The main activity of the Salin-de-Giraud saltworks is the production and marketing of salt and certain magnesium products extracted from seawater. An ecosystem of incomparable richness and diversity in the heart of the Camargue Natural Park, home to over 237 species of birds.

The Varangéville production site uses its finished products for a wide range of applications, including road salt, dishwasher salt, the food industry, agriculture, chemicals and plastics. It is the last French dry mine in operation.

Dax has been known for its salt deposits since 1865. In 1965, the Dax saltworks merged with the Varangéville saltworks and mine to create the Compagnie des Salins du Midi et des Salines de l'Est (CSME). This site has expanded into high value-added products such as additive tablets for swimming pools and water treatment, as well as calibrated salts for the food industry.

Bourdic, located in the heart of the Guérande salt marshes in Batz syr Mer (44), produces and markets a wide range of products under the Le Paludier and Baleine de Guérande brands: coarse salt, fine salt, fleur de sel, flavored salts and condiments. It also packages other brands and origins, such as Baleine de Noirmoutier, Saunier de Noirmoutier and Saunier de l'Île de Ré.
