The Salins group is the industrial operator of the Compagnie Générale des salines de Tunisie (COTUSAL), which was created in 1949. The company exploits the salt marshes close to the major Tunisian ports.

Split between management and production tasks, the men and the women of COTUSAL perform all the salt extraction trades: designing and manufacturing adapted production tools, producing, harvesting, preparing, selling, recording, and administration, etc. - everything that contributes to maintaining COTUSAL as a reference on the national and international markets.

The annual production of approximately 750 KT supplies the local and export markets.

The national market, particularly through the brands "le Flamant" and "le Dauphin" , represents close to 70 KT per year. Thanks to its geographical locations, which cover the whole of the country, COTUSAL delivers to its customers within the best possible lead times. Whether it is dried or simply centrifuged; fine or ground according to the required granulometry; the salt is given our fullest attention in terms of procurement safety, quality and hygiene.

COTUSAL exports have risen from 100 KT in the 1950s to more than 600 KT today. Since its creation, COTUSAL has exported to more than 30 countries, satisfying the farthest demand (Japan, Brazil, the United States) and the most specific requirements (chemical industries, agriculture, winter serviceability of roads, agriculture and food, water softening, etc.).

Alongside the renowned quality of its products, COTUSAL offers an exceptional service ensuring customers rapid loading means for 1 KT to more than 30 KT ships at any moment of the year, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
